Duality and unity

siv sakatee daa maylu doubidhaa hovaee.

The confluence of Siva and the Sakti is the root cause of this creation full of duality.

trai goun maaiaa khaylu bhari bhari dhovaee.

The maya with her three gunas (qualities – rajas, tamas and salty) plays her games and sometimes fills the man (with hopes and desires) and at another time empties him totally frustrating his plans.

chaari padaarad bhaylu haar parovaee.

Maya deludes people through the cyclic garlands of dharma, arth, cam and mokc (four supposed ideals of life) offered by her to man.

pMij qq prvyl AMiq ivgoveI ]

panji tat paravayl anti vigovaee.

But man, the sum total of five elements, perishes ultimately.

chhia routi baarah maah hasi hasi rovaee.

The jiv (creature), laughs, weeps and wails during all the six seasons and twelve months of his life

ridhi sidhi navanidhi need n sovaee ||6||

And imbued with the pleasures of the miraculous powers (given him by the Lord) never attains peace and equipoise.
