At the time of going to sleep, Krishna thought that he should do something for the residents of Braja

praat bhe te bulai kai uoodhava; bhej kajayo teh thaureh dha'ieeyai ||

Udhava be called early in the morning and sent to Braja,

gÍwrib jwie sMqoK krY su sMqoK kry hmrI DRm m`eIXY ]

gavaiaarab jai sa(n)tokh karai; su sa(n)tokh kare hamaree dhram ma'ieeyai ||

So that he may convey words of comfort to his god-mother and the gopis and gopas

yaa te na baat bhalee kachhoo aaur hai; moh bibekeh ko jhagara'ieeyai ||893||

And then there is no other way to solve the conflict of love and knowledge.893.

When the day dawned, Krishna called Udhava and sent him to Braja

so chal na(n)dh ke dhaam gayo; bateeyaa keh sok asok bhayo hai ||

He reached the house of Nand, where the grief of all was dispelled

nMd khXo sMig aUDv ky kbhUM hir jI muih ic`q kXo hY ]

na(n)dh kahayo sa(n)g uoodhav ke; kabahoo(n) har jee muh chi't kayo hai ||

Nand asked Udhava whether Krishna had ever remembered him

Xo kih kY suD sÎwmih kY DrnI pr so murJwie pXo hY ]894]

yo keh kai sudh sayaameh kai; dharanee par so murajhai payo hai ||894||

Saying only this, he, on remembering Krishna, became unconscious and fell down on the earth.894.

When Nand fell down on the earth, Udhava said that the hero of Yadavas had come

Hearing these words, forsaking his sorrow,

taj ke biraj ko pur beech ge; fir kai biraj mai nahee sayaam aae ||895||

Nand stood up and said, “O Udava! I know that you and Krishna have deceived us because after abandoning Braja and going to the city, Krishna had never returned.895.

sÎwm gey qijkY ibRj ko ibRj logn ko Aiq hI duK dIno ]

sayaam ge tajikai biraj ko; biraj logan ko at hee dhukh dheeno ||

“Krishna, forsaking Braja, has given extreme grief to all the people

aUDv bwq suno hmrI iqh ky ibn BXo hmro pur hIno ]

uoodhav baat suno hamaree; teh ke bin bhayo hamaro pur heeno ||

O Udhava! without him, Braja has become poor

dhai bidh nai hamarai greh baalaka; paap binaa ham te fir chheeno ||

XoN kih sIs Jukwie rhXo bhu sok bFXo Aiq rodn kIno ]896]

yo(n) keh sees jhukai rahayo; bahu sok baddayo at rodhan keeno ||896||

“The Lord-God gave a son in our house, but we do not know, for which sin of our he has snatched him from us?” Saying this Nand bowed his head and began to weep.896.

Saying this, he fell down on the earth and getting up again, he said to Udhava, “O Udhava! tell me the reason why Krishna has left Braja and has gone to Matura?

tihate nahee let kachhoo sudh hai; muh paap pachhaan kachhoo ris siau ||897||

For what sin of mine, Krishna does not communicate with me?”897.

tho sut so basudheveh ko; tum te sabh pai prabh joo nahee chheeno ||

Hearing these words, Udhava replied, “He was actually the son of Vasudev, the Lord-God has not snatched him from you,”

sun kai pur ko pat yo(n); bateeyaa keh sayaam usaas kahai tin leeno ||

Hearing this, Nand heaved a cold sigh and lost patience

dheer gayo chhut rovat bhayo; inahoo(n) teh dhekhat rodhan keeno ||898||

And seeing towards Udhava, he began to weep.898.

hath uoodhav ke ieh bhaa(n)t kahayo; pur ke pat so kachhoo sok na keejai ||

Udhava said persistently, “O Lord of Braja! do not be sorrowful

sÎwm khI muih jo bqIXw iqh kI ibrQw sB hI sun lIjY ]

sayaam kahee muh jo bateeyaa; teh kee birathaa sabh hee sun leejai ||

Whatever Krishna has asked me to convey to you, all of you may listen to me

jwkI kQw suin hoq KusI mn dyKq hI ijs ko muK jIjY ]

jaakee kathaa sun hot khusee mana; dhekhat hee jis ko mukh jeejai ||

“He, hering whose words, the mind is pleased and seeing whose face all receive life-force,

vwih khXo nih icMq kro n kCU ieh qy qumro Pun CIjY ]899]

vaeh kahayo neh chi(n)t karo; na kachhoo ieh te tumaro fun chheejai ||899||

That Krishna has asked you to abandon all anxiety, you would lose nothing.”899.

Hearing the talk of Udhava in this way, Nand further questioned Udhava and hearing the story of Krishna

All his grief was dispelled and happiness was increased in his mind

aaur dhiee sabh chhor kathaa; har baat sunaibe bikhai anuraagayo ||

He forsook all other talk and absorbed himself in knowing about Krishna

dhayaan lagaavat jiau jugeeyaa; ieh tiau har dhayaan ke bheetar paagayo ||900||

The way in which the yogis meditate, just like that he only concentrated on Krishna.900.

yaua(n) keh uoodhav jaat bhayo; biraj mai teh gavaiaaran kee sudh paiee ||

After saying this, Udhava went to the village in order to apprise himself about the state of gopis

maanahu sok ko dhaam huto; dhrum thaur rahe su tahaa(n) murajhaiee ||

All the Braja appeared to him as the abode of sorrow, there the trees and plants had withered with grief

mon rahee greh baith tirayaa; mano yo(n) upajee ihate dhuchitaiee ||

The women were sitting silently in their houses

sayaam sune te prasa(n)nay bhiee; neh aae sune fir bhee dhukhadhaiee ||901||

They appeared to be entrapped in a great uncertainty, they became pleased when they heard about Krishna, but when they came to know this that he had not come, they felt anguish.901.
