Maajh, Third Mehl:

siqgur swcI isK suxweI ]

sathigur saachee sikh sunaaee ||

The True Guru has imparted the True Teachings.

har chaethahu anth hoe sakhaaee ||

Think of the Lord, who shall be your Help and Support in the end.

har agam agochar anaathh ajonee sathigur kai bhaae paavaniaa ||1||

The Lord is Inaccessible and Incomprehensible. He has no master, and He is not born. He is obtained through love of the True Guru. ||1||

ho vaaree jeeo vaaree aap nivaaraniaa ||

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who eliminate selfishness and conceit.

Awpu gvwey qw hir pwey hir isau shij smwvixAw ]1] rhwau ]

aap gavaaeae thaa har paaeae har sio sehaj samaavaniaa ||1|| rehaao ||

They eradicate selfishness and conceit, and then find the Lord; they are intuitively immersed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||

poorab likhiaa s karam kamaaeiaa ||

According to their pre-ordained destiny, they act out their karma.

siqguru syiv sdw suKu pwieAw ]

sathigur saev sadhaa sukh paaeiaa ||

Serving the True Guru, a lasting peace is found.

ibnu Bwgw guru pweIAY nwhI sbdY myil imlwvixAw ]2]

bin bhaagaa gur paaeeai naahee sabadhai mael milaavaniaa ||2||

Without good fortune, the Guru is not found. Through the Word of the Shabad, they are united in the Lord's Union. ||2||

guramukh alipath rehai sansaarae ||

The Gurmukhs remain unaffected in the midst of the world.

gur kai thakeeai naam adhhaarae ||

The Guru is their cushion, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is their Support.

guramukh jor karae kiaa this no aapae khap dhukh paavaniaa ||3||

Who can oppress the Gurmukh? One who tries shall perish, writhing in pain. ||3||

manamukh andhhae sudhh n kaaee ||

The blind self-willed manmukhs have no understanding at all.

aatham ghaathee hai jagath kasaaee ||

They are the assassins of the self, and the butchers of the world.

nindhaa kar kar bahu bhaar outhaavai bin majooree bhaar pahuchaavaniaa ||4||

By continually slandering others, they carry a terrible load, and they carry the loads of others for nothing. ||4||

eihu jag vaarree maeraa prabh maalee ||

This world is a garden, and my Lord God is the Gardener.

sdw smwly ko nwhI KwlI ]

sadhaa samaalae ko naahee khaalee ||

He always takes care of it-nothing is exempt from His Care.

jyhI vwsnw pwey qyhI vrqY vwsU vwsu jxwvixAw ]5]

jaehee vaasanaa paaeae thaehee varathai vaasoo vaas janaavaniaa ||5||

As is the fragrance which He bestows, so is the fragrant flower known. ||5||

mnmuKu rogI hY sMswrw ]

manamukh rogee hai sansaaraa ||

The self-willed manmukhs are sick and diseased in the world.

suKdwqw ivsirAw Agm Apwrw ]

sukhadhaathaa visariaa agam apaaraa ||

They have forgotten the Giver of peace, the Unfathomable, the Infinite.

duKIey iniq iPrih ibllwdy ibnu gur sWiq n pwvixAw ]6]

dhukheeeae nith firehi bilalaadhae bin gur saanth n paavaniaa ||6||

These miserable people wander endlessly, crying out in pain; without the Guru, they find no peace. ||6||

ijin kIqy soeI ibiD jwxY ]

jin keethae soee bidhh jaanai ||

The One who created them, knows their condition.

Awip kry qw hukim pCwxY ]

aap karae thaa hukam pashhaanai ||

And if He inspires them, then they realize the Hukam of His Command.

jyhw AMdir pwey qyhw vrqY Awpy bwhir pwvixAw ]7]

jaehaa andhar paaeae thaehaa varathai aapae baahar paavaniaa ||7||

Whatever He places within them, that is what prevails, and so they outwardly appear. ||7||

this baajhahu sachae mai hor n koee ||

I know of no other except the True One.

Those, whom the Lord attaches to Himself, become pure.
