sraavag sudha, samooh sidhaan ke; dhekh firio ghar jog jatee ke ||

I have seen during my tours pure Sravaks (Jaina and Buddhist monks), group of adepts and abodes of ascetics and Yogi.

sUr surwrdn su`D suDwidk sMq smUh Anyk mqI ky ]

soora, suraaradhan su'dh su'dhaadhika; sa(n)t samooh anek matee ke ||

Valiant heroes, demons killing gods, gods drinking nectar and assemblies of saints of various sects.

swry hI dys ko dyiK rihE mq koaU n dyKIAq pRwnpqI ky ]

saare hee dhes ko dhekh rahio mata; kouoo na dhekheeat praan patee ke ||

I have seen the disciplines of the religious systems of all the countries, but seen none of the Lord, the Master of my life.

sree bhagavaan kee bhai kirapaa hoo(n) te; ek ratee bin ek ratee ke ||1||21||

They are worth nothing without an iota of the Grace of the Lord. 1.21.

maate mata(n)g jare jar sa(n)ga; anoop uta(n)g sura(n)g savaare ||

With intoxicated elephants, studded with gold, incomparable and huge, painted in bright colours.

kot qurMg kurMg sy kUdq paun ky gaun kau jwq invwry ]

kot tura(n)g kura(n)g se koodhata; pauan ke gaun kau jaat nivaare ||

With millions of horses galloping like deer, moving faster than the wind.

BwrI Bujwn ky BUp BlI ibiD inAwvq sIs n jwq ibcwry ]

bhaaree bhujaan ke bhoopa, bhalee bidhi; niaavat sees na jaat bichaare ||

With many kings indescribable, having long arms (of heavy allied forces), bowing their heads in fine array.

eyqy Bey qo khw Bey BUpiq AMq kO nWgy hI pwie pDwry ]2]22]

ete bhe to kahaa bhe, bhoopata; a(n)t kau naage hee pai padhaare ||2||22||

What matters if such mighty emperors were there, because they had to leave the world with bare feet.2.22.

jeet firai, sab dhes dhisaan ko; baajat ddol miradha(n)g nagaare ||

With the beat of drums and trumpets if the emperor conquers all the countries.

guMjq gUV gjwn ky suMdr ihMsq hI hXrwj hjwry ]

gu(n)jat goor gajaan ke su(n)dhara; hi(n)sat hee hay raaj hajaare ||

Along with many beautiful roaring elephants and thousands of neighing houses of best breed.

BUq Biv`K Bvwn ky BUpiq kaunu gnY nhI jwiq ibcwry ]

bhoot bhavi'kh bhavaan ke bhoopata; kaun ganai, nahee jaat bichaare ||

Such like emperors of the past, present and future cannot be counted and ascertained.

sree pat sree bhagavaan bhaje binu; a(n)t kueu, a(n)take dhaam sidhaare ||3||23||

But without remembering the Name of the Lord, they ultimately leave for their final abode. 3.23.

teerath naan dhiaa dham dhaana; su sa(n)jam nem anek bisekhai ||

Taking bath at holy places, exercising mercy, controlling passions, performing acts of charity, practicing austerity and many special rituals.

byd purwn kqyb kurwn ijmIn jmwn sbwn ky pyKY ]

bedh puraana, kateb kuraana; jimeen jamaan sabaan ke pekhai ||

Studying of Vedas, Puranas and holy Quran and scanning all this world and the next world.

paun Ahwr jqI jq Dwr sBY su ibcwr hjwrk dyKY ]

paun ahaara, jatee jat dhaara; sabai su bichaar hajaarak dhekhai ||

Subsisting only on air, practicing continence and meeting thousands of persons of all good thoughts.

sRI Bgvwn Bjy ibnu BUpiq eyk rqI ibnu eyk n lyKY ]4]24]

sree bhagavaana, bhaje bin bhoopati; ek ratee bin ek na lekhai ||4||24||

But O King! Without the remembrance of the Name of the Lord, all this is of no account, being without an iota of the Grace of the Lord. 4.24.

su`D ispwh durMq dubwh su swij snwh durjwn dlYNgy ]

sudh sipaaha, dhura(n)t dhubaaha; su saaj sanaaha, dhurajaan dhalaige ||

The trained soldiers, mightly and invincible, clad in coat of mail, who would be able to crush the enemies.

bhaaree gumaan bhare man mai; kar parabat pa(n)kh hale, na halaige ||

With great ego in their mind that they would not be vanquished even if the mountains move with wings.

tor areena, maror mavaasana; maate mata(n)gana, maan malaige ||

They would destroy the enemies, twist the rebels and smash the pride of intoxicated elephants.

sree pat sree bhagavaan kirapaa binu; tiaag jahaan nidhaan chalaige ||5||25||

But without the Grace of the Lord-God, they would ultimately leave the world. 5.25.

bIr Apwr bfy birAwr Aibcwrih swr kI Dwr BC`Xw ]

beer apaara, badde bariaara; abichaareh saar kee dhaar bhachha'yaa ||

Innumerable brave and mighty heroes, fearlessly facing the edge of the sword.

qorq dys milMd mvwsn mwqy gjwn ky mwn ml`Xw ]

torat dhes mali(n)dh mavaasana; maate gajaan ke maan mala'yaa ||

Conquering the countries, subjugating the rebels and crushing the pride of the intoxicated elephants.

gwVy gVwn ky qoVnhwr su bwqn hI ck cwr lv`Xw ]

gaare garaan ke toranahaara; su baatan hee, chak chaar lava'yaa ||

Capturing the strong forts and conquering all sides with mere threats.

saahib sree sabh ko siranaika; jaachik aneka, su ek dhiva'yaa ||6||26||

The Lord God is the Cammander of all and is the only Donor, the beggars are many. 6.26.

dhaanav dheva, fani(n)dh nisaachara; bhoot bhavi'kh bhavaan japaige ||

Demons, gods, huge serpents, ghosts, past, present and future would repeat His Name.

jeev jite, jal mai thal mai; pal hee pal mai, sabh thaap thapaige ||

All the creatures in the sea and on land would increase and the heaps of sins would be destroyed.

pu(n)n prataapan baadd jait dhuna; paapan ke, bahu pu(n)j khapaige ||

The praises of the glories of virtues would increase and the heaps of sins would be destroyed

saadh samooha, prasa(n)n firai jaga; sa'tr sabhai, avalok chapaige ||7||27||

All the saints would wander in the world with bliss and the enemies would be annoyed on seeing them.7.27.

mwnv ieMdR gijMdR nrwDp jOn iqRlok ko rwj krYNgy ]

maanav i(n)dhr gaji(n)dhr naraadhapa; jauana, tiralok ko raaj karaige ||

King of men and elephants, emperors who would rule over the three worlds.

koit iesnwn gjwidk dwn Anyk suAMbr swj brYNgy ]

kot isanaana, gajaadhik dhaana; anek sua(n)bar saaj baraige ||

Who would perform millions of ablutions, give elephants and other animals in charity and arrange many svayyamuaras (self-marriage functions) for weddings.

bRhm mhysr ibsn scIpiq AMq Psy jm Pws prYNgy ]

braham mahesar bisan sacheepata; a(n)t fase jam faas paraige ||

Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and Consort of Sachi (Indra) would ultimately fall in the noose of death.

je nar sree pat ke pras hai(n) paga; te nar fer na dheh dharaige ||8||28||

But those who fall at the feet of Lord-God, they would not appear again in physical form. 8.28.

kahaa bhayo, jo dhouoo lochan moo(n)dhakai; baith rahio, bak dhayaan lagaio ||

Of what use it is if one sits and meditates like a crane with his eyes closed.

nHwq iPirE lIey swq smuMdRn lok gieE prlok gvwieE ]

nhaat firio le'ee, saat samu(n)dhrana; lok gio, paralok gavaio ||

If he takes bath at holy places upto the seventh sea, he loses this world and also the next world.

bwsu kIE ibiKAwn so bYT kY AYsy hI AYsy su bYs ibqwieE ]

baas keeo bikhiaan so baith kai; aaise hee aaise su bais bitaio ||

He spends his life in such performing evil actions and wastes his life in such pursuits.

saach kahau sun leh sabhai; jin prem keeo tin hee prabh paio ||9||29||

I speak Truth, all should turn their ears towards it: he, who is absorbed in True Love, he would realize the Lord. 9.29.

kaahoo lai paahan pooj dhario sira; kaahoo lai li(n)g gare latakaio ||

Someone worshipped stone and placed it on his head. Someone hung the phallus (lingam) from his neck.

kwhU liKE hir AvwcI idsw mih kwhU pCwh ko sIs invwieE ]

kaahoo lakhio har avaachee dhisaa mahi; kaahoo pachhaeh ko sees nivaio ||

Someone visualized God in the South and someone bowed his head towards the West.

koaU buqwn ko pUjq hY psu koaU imRqwn ko pUjn DwieE ]

kouoo butaan kau poojat hai pasu; kouoo mritaan kau poojan dhaio ||

Some fool worships the idols and someone goes to worship the dead.

kUr ikRAw auriJE sB hI jg sRI Bgvwn ko Bydu n pwieE ]10]30]

koor kriaa urajhio sabh hee jagu; sree bhagavaan ko bhedh na paio ||10||30||

The whole world is entangled in false rituals and has not known the secret of Lord-God 10.30.
